The Director's Message

Welcome to the Ph.D. School of the University of Salento, the point of reference for advanced research training.

The doctoral school of the University of Salento collects 13 courses in the three macro-areas present in the university: humanities, economic-legal and technical-scientific. The PhD allows you to reach the highest level of education provided for in the Italian academic system, providing both the skills necessary to carry out basic and applied research activities, and to develop highly innovative products, processes and services of interest to public and private entities. In this vision, Unisalento has formalized the collaboration for the development of specific doctoral projects with private companies and research centres.

The School promotes the exchange of knowledge between different fields, and therefore inter-disciplinarity and trans-disciplinarity, also through the organization of specific training initiatives. It also promotes the international projection of its doctoral students favouring the development of research activities abroad.

The courses, some of them also in collaboration with other Italian and foreign universities, are open to the participation of Italian and foreign students who want to reach the highest level of skills. Finally, the doctoral school promotes the placement of its research doctors by participating in the main initiatives (Open Days etc.) at both national and local level.
